You’ve worked hard on your basement, spent long hours researching in detail the best ways to insulate the walls, soundproof the ceiling and how the home theatre will be set up. You’ve used the best materials and agonized over every small detail. Now you realize to have the finish you want, you need to trust the finishing to someone else.
At the same time, you’re thinking that you have spent a lot of money on your basement already and if you can save a few bucks on the drywall taping you can spend the money saved on something a little more exciting like a bigger flat screen TV, cool furniture and lighting. You’ve gotten a few estimates and decide to chance it with the guy that’s much cheaper than everyone else.
